Eduardo Ferrer: Tecnosound, Tunera y Covertura

Es imposible entender la realidad de Lanzarote sin conocer, aunque sea por encima, a sus principales empresarios. Desde luego, cada una de las decenas de miles de habitantes que ha tenido y tiene la isla ha jugado su papel y ha contribuído a que el espacio común que hoy nos alberga sea el que es. Pero sólo unos pocos, apenas un puñado de individuos, han asumido un rol protagonista y fundamental. Con su iniciativa y poder económico fueron capaces de construir grandes obras y de crear muchos puestos de trabajo, pero también manipularon medios de comunicación y jugaron a la política en su beneficio; Impulsaron el desarrollo y fomentaron la llegada de adelantos y lujos impensables antes, pero también esquilmaron territorio y nos condujeron a la insostenibilidad en muy diversos ámbitos.

No es la intención de lanzarotelandia colocar a estos personajes únicos en la picota ni denigrarlos gratuitamente. Como tampoco es ensalzarlos o regalarles piropos. Simplemente describiremos sus empresas y algunos de sus principales negocios. Consideramos fundamental que un buen número de lanzaroteños conozca a quienes están detrás de muchas de las grandes decisiones que se toman en la isla, sus vínculos políticos y también los mediáticos. Porque sólo así comprenderemos esas decisiones y las contextualizaremos. Porque sólo así podremos actuar o dejar hacer, criticar o aplaudir, votar o abstenernos, con pleno conocimiento de causa. Sabremos que cuando determinado político dice «porque es beneficioso para Lanzarote» en realidad está queriendo decir «porque es beneficioso para fulanito… y tal vez también lo sea para Lanzarote». Con un poco de suerte llegará un momento en que un gran número de personas seremos capaces de traducir ese tipo de discurso sin dificultades, y entonces la demagogia política, al saberse absurda, no tendrá razón de ser.

Por supuesto, nadie puede garantizar que nuestra información sea verídica y bienintencionada. Tal vez nosotros también seamos uno más de esos medios manipulados que va a tratar con distintas varas de medir a unos u otros, según nos convenga. En ese sentido lo único que podemos hacer es ofrecer nuestro trabajo y someterlo a su juicio crítico. Vean, contrasten la información con sus propias fuentes y luego decidan.

A escasos doscientos metros de la concentración que el 30 de Abril del 2010 tendrá lugar frente al Cabildo, y a esa misma hora, las cinco de la tarde, probablemente quienes hasta allí vayan tendrán ocasión de ver una serie de carpas verdes, salpicando el parque del recinto ferial aquí y allá. Y estarán allí porque previamente las habrán colocado, seguramente esa misma mañana, unos operarios de alguna de las empresas de Eduardo Ferrer, aunque habrán llegado en un camión que lleve el logo de Tecnosound, empresa de la que es administrador único. Eduardo Ferrer, recordemos, fue recientemente detenido e imputado por cohecho en el transcurso de la Operación Jable.

Tecnosound

El objeto social de la empresa Tecnosound cuando nació en el año 1992 era el alquiler, compra y venta de material de sonido e iluminación. Pero en el año 2004 dicho objeto social fue revisado, pasando a incluir un «y complementos propios del espectáculo».

La realidad es que Tecnosound viene desde ese año 1992 trabajando con diferentes instituciones de la isla. El mismo nacimiento y evolución de Eduardo Ferrer como empresario está íntimamente relacionado a las administraciones insulares con las que ha trabajado. Los equipos de luz y sonido, así como la asistencia técnica, utilizados en conciertos y espectáculos de todo tipo, tan frecuentes en las fiestas de los barrios y demás conmemoraciones, suele ser suministrado por empresas suyas, especialmente por Tecnosound.

Empresas de Eduardo Ferrer:

La complicidad de las instituciones permitió a Eduardo Ferrer crecer rápidamente y montar un pequeño imperio insular en torno a los espectáculos de Lanzarote. Además de Tecnosound, Eduardo Ferrer dirige también Tunera Producciones, una empresa que está detrás de eventos como el Festival Malpaís (Arrecife) o muchos de los conciertos importantes que se celebran en la isla (Fito y Barricada, dos de los últimos).

Monopolio

Hoy puede decirse, sin temor a exagerar, que Eduardo Ferrer ejerce una posición de monopolio práctico en la isla en todo lo que tiene que ver con el mundo del sonido y la luminotecnia. Y si lo ha conseguido es gracias a la complicidad de políticos de distintos signos, aunque tanto el PIL como el PSOE (sobretodo los primeros) se llevan la palma.

Estrategia. Las carpas.

La estrategia de negocio que permitió a Eduardo Ferrer triunfar es siempre la misma. Y fue la empleada también en el caso de las carpas del Mercado Turístico de Arrecife, con una empresa que montó en Diciembre del 2008, Covertura.

En lugar de que el Ayuntamiento de turno compre el equipo de sonido e iluminación correspondiente (o las carpas) y contrate a gente para colocarlo cada vez, o utilice a sus propios empleados funcionarios, lo que hacen es subcontratar empresas del tipo de Tecnosound que les alquilan los equipos y se encargan de la instalación o del trabajo técnico.

En principio el trato no tendría por qué ser malo, pero analicemos el caso concreto de las carpas.

Se trata de unas estructuras de aluminio cubiertas por lona ignífuga de la marca M2. Ni más ni menos. Hay unas blancas grandes fijas y el resto se colocan el día antes del mercado, el viernes. En total son unas 100.

Son muy parecidas a estas, aunque un poco mejores, con tela por los lados también. Su precio no es de 150 euros, sino de 300 euros la unidad. Pero la empresa de Eduardo Ferrer las vendió al Ayuntamiento por 1.200 euros la unidad.

Y, a parte, cobró al Consistorio 25 euros por unidad y día en concepto de montaje. O sea, que si hay 100 carpas, Covertura se embolsa 2.500 euros en una sóla mañana por un trabajo que hacen cuatro operarios, quienes difícilmente ganarán más de 100 o 200 euros cada uno por ese único día de trabajo. No se puede negar que el negocio es redondo. Redondo para Eduardo Ferrer, se entiende, no para los ciudadanos de Arrecife.

Opacidad institucional

En cualquier caso, las cifras casi son lo de menos, aunque sean significativas. Aquí lo importante es que este caso es sintomático. Miguel Ángel Leal y Alberto Morales (del PSOE) fueron las dos personas que contrataron la empresa de Eduardo Ferrer. ¿Qué criterios siguieron? ¿Convocaron oferta pública? ¿Existe un desglose en el presupuesto presentado por Eduardo Ferrer? ¿Publicaron los criterios que les llevaron a tomar su decisión? ¿Hay algún lugar en el que los ciudadanos de a pie podamos conseguir esa información?

Ustedes conocen las respuestas a todas esas preguntas. Esto es Lanzarote. De esto hablamos cuando decimos que hace falta más transparencia; no del sexo de los ángeles. A esto nos referimos cuando decimos que queremos unas instituciones transparentes y que se publiquen todas y cada una de las decisiones que toma un Consistorio. No de rollitos teóricos ni de discursitos. De esto.

Porque, no nos engañemos. Lo de las carpas es una minucia. Hablemos del Plan de Barrios adjudicado a Lanzagrava (con su administrador, Demetrio, también detenido e imputado) por un montante de casi 10 millones de euros. ¿Cuánto de ese dinero se queda por el camino?

A Eduardo Ferrer, y a quienes suelen contratarle desde sus puestos políticos, no les interesa que haya transparencia. Y con Eduardo Ferrer han trabajado todos. Lo de las carpas fue un tema que sacó adelante el PSOE de Arrecife con Enrique de alcalde. Pero Cándido cuando llegó no movió un dedo para averiguar si el trato era ventajoso para el Ayuntamiento o no. Pa`lante con el mercado y fuera. De hecho, se suponía que la gestión del bar del parque iba a salir a concurso público, pero finalmente fue adjudicada a dedo por el Gobierno de Cándido a otra empresa cuyo propietario, un tal Carmelo Quintana, tiene también mucho que ver con el mundo del espectáculo. Pero de este ya hablaremos en otra ocasión.

Como sea, el caso es que aquí todos están pringados. Y esto no se va a arreglar en dos días, ni con dos manifestaciones, ténganlo claro. Eduardos Ferrer hay en Lanzarote a la patada, y políticos vinculados a ellos hay otros tantos. Se trata de una simple cuestión de reciprocidad, estos empresarios sostienen a políticos (o a los partidos a los que pertenecen), y los partidos les sostienen a ellos. Una reciprocidad que debe acabar de una vez por todas y para siempre.

Lo positivo.

Para no ser injustos, hay que reconocerle a Eduardo Ferrer que todos los años de experiencia que tiene tras de sí no han sido en vano. La mayoría de eventos que organiza Tunera Producciones destacan por una solvencia y calidad incuestionables. El Festival Malpaís es otro ejemplo de trabajo bien hecho, qué duda cabe. Otra cosa es que a veces en alguna fiesta perdida de algún barrio Tecnosound mande a un par de técnicos mal pagados que no sepan hacer muy bien su trabajo, pero en las grandes citas, sobretodo cuando se trata de Tunera Producciones la empresa organizadora, suelen dar la talla.
