Entre las pocas verdades que puedo considerar absolutas está la de que solo una madre sabe lo que es el amor de madre. Precisamente esta semana estudiando la llamada sincronía madre-hijo, es decir, una adaptación mutua que se realiza a través de la interacción entre la madre y el bebé, me doy cuenta de lo importante que es ese contacto afectivo para que el niño logre la autonomía personal. Es decir, sin la seguridad y sin los lazos emocionales que entrelaza la madre con sus cuidados y atenciones, el bebé no podría animarse a explorar el mundo que le rodea. La sincronía es como una sintonía emocional de un dueto musical improvisado que ayuda al bebé a aprender a conectar con los demás. A veces es tan sutil que únicamente el niño y la madre saben interpretarse. La sincronía también hace que los niños realicen imitaciones recíprocas de los adultos que les rodean (se calcula que los bebés pasan un promedio de 1 hora en un juego cara a cara) y por eso el clima emocional que se establezca es tan importante. El papel de la madre influye tanto en el niño que en el contacto con un extraño se mostrará como lo haga su madre: confiado, desconfiado, tímido, extrovertido. También hay experimentos que demuestran cómo el niño actúa muy mal ante los rostros inexpresivos y la falta de interacción. En definitiva, la sincronía o receptividad tiene mucha influencia en el desarrollo psicológico y cognitivo posterior. Los cuidados, mimos, atenciones y estimulaciones que hayamos recibido de pequeños tendrán mucha incidencia en nuestro carácter, en la forma que tenemos de relacionarnos y conectar con los otros. Al fin y al cabo, siendo niños o adultos, lo que siempre buscamos es la proximidad y el apego.
