Los dos caminos hacia la revolución

La revolución, entendiendo revolución como «evolución de una situación injusta, dañina e insostenible a otra justa, benévola y sostenible» se puede hacer de dos maneras. Si estas maneras son opuestas o complementarias lo veremos un poco más adelante.

Una es la de la confrontación. Señalar y denunciar cada injusticia, fijarte en cada cosa que está mal, apuntar con el dedo a los responsables y criticarles abiertamente para que tomen conciencia del tema y ellos mismos reviertan la falta.

La otra forma es siendo propositivo y proactivo. Es decir, sin criticar a nadie ni denunciar nada, provocar tú mismo los cambios que te gustaría ver, o hacer cosas que funcionen como tú crees que deberían funcionar tales cosas.

Un ejemplo. En tu barrio hay un parque literalmente destrozado. Está hecho polvo: el suelo de madera roto, las barandillas caídas, las luces venidas abajo…

Ante esta situación, y si damos por buenas las dos vías que expliqué al principio, se pueden tomar dos posiciones. Una es poner a parir a los políticos, a los dueños del parque (en caso de que no sea público), cagarte en las muelas de los vándalos, recoger firmas, plantarte en el Ayuntamiento, hacer un escrache a alguno de los copropietarios del parque. Todo en la misma línea de crítica-denuncia-confrontación para que otros, los «responsables» arreglen la situación.

El otro camino, el que vine a llamar proactivo, implicaría intentar arreglar el parque tú mismo. Concienciar a vecinos, recaudar fondos, ponerte en contacto con carpinteros y organizar unas jornadas para hacer los arreglos entre quienes quieran apuntarse y con el dinero que se haya podido recaudar.

Ni que decir tiene que el segundo camino suele ser el más complicado. Es el que exige más trabajo, más horas y, en definitiva, poner más de tu parte en todo. Eso sí, también es el más gratificante  y el que ofrece mejores resultados. Se advirtió, por ejemplo, cuando en Famara una persona decidió organizar por su cuenta la limpieza de la playa. Se puso en contacto con los de Ocean Project, convocó a la gente y la gente respondió, dejando la zona libre de plásticos, latas y desperdicios como hacía tiempo no se veía.

No nos engañemos, a la mayoría nos resulta mucho más fácil tirar por el camino de la crítica. Y lo decimos nosotros, que llevamos mucho dedicándonos precisamente a eso, a la crítica y la denuncia. No es que no paguemos un precio, que sí lo pagamos, pero no podemos negar que escribir una noticia o publicar un comentario en facebook denunciando o criticando tal o cual situación apenas toma unos minutos, mientras que intentar arreglar tales situaciones nos llevaría muchísimo más esfuerzo.

De todos modos, quizás cometiéramos un error si desecháramos por completo la vía de la crítica, la denuncia y la oposición. Ahí tenemos, sin ir más lejos, lo de las plataformas petrolíferas… ¿qué haces contra eso? ¿qué vía propositiva  y proactiva que no pase por la crítica y la denuncia cabe en un caso como este? Puedes promover energías alternativas y la desvinculación respecto al petróleo todo lo que quieras, que nada de eso va a evitar que te planten las plataformas un día de estos si no les haces frente y te plantas como los del barco de chanquete cuando decidieron no moverse.

Entonces tal vez no se trate tanto de seguir un camino u otro, sino de combinar ambos. Nuestra intención con este escrito era sobre todo colocar sobre la mesa estas dos vías, y poner en valor la existencia de esa otra, la proactiva, por los innumerables beneficios que acarrea a todos los niveles. Se evita el enfrentamiento, se promueve el esfuerzo comunal, se refuerza la idea de vecindad como ciudadanos que vivimos y compartimos un espacio público que entre todos debemos cuidar… en definitiva, asumimos más responsabilidad y nos vamos desacostumbrando de tanto vasallaje y dependencia institucional. Va siendo hora de organizarnos, de aprender a funcionar por nuestra cuenta y, en definitiva, de olvidarnos un poco de los políticos, tanto para bien como para mal.
