Se ha montado una buena con la pifia de Manolo Lama montando un show a costa de un mendigo en Hamburgo. El grupo que crearon en facebook a los pocos minutos de que la escena se diera en directo ya va por las 80.000 personas y subiendo. Entre esas 80.000 personas hay periodistas que han dado la noticia y blogueros que han escrito entradas sobre el tema, llenando la red de opiniones y difundiendo el suceso a la velocidad del rayo.

Dejando a un lado el aspecto moral del reportaje en sí, algo sobre lo que en un sólo día ya se ha dicho prácticamente todo lo que se podía decir (el espectro opinador va desde quienes piensan que no hay para tanto hasta los que exigen que Lama sea despedido fulminantemente), yo quisiera reflexionar en torno a lo mucho y lo rápido que está cambiando nuestra forma de relacionarnos y de interactuar con las cosas que suceden a nuestro alrededor.

Pero no se trata, como antaño, de acciones promovidas por líderes políticos, militares o religiosos, sino de acciones promovidas por cualquier individuo, sin necesidad de que cuente con especial carisma, poder o atractivo personal.

Las consecuencias últimas de todo esto todavía están por verse. Y no todas son positivas. Facebook no deja de ser una herramienta creada y desarrollada por una empresa privada que puede decidir por nosotros qué tipo de grupos son censurables y cuales no; para qué les interesa que la gente se coordine y para qué no les interesa. Pero lo bueno es que hay competencia. Facebook no puede apretar las tuercas demasiado a sus usuarios porque sabe que muchos de ellos también tienen cuentas en tuenti, twitter, etc…, y si se extiende la percepción de que facebook censura más de lo justo, la gente dejará de usarlo.

En cualquier caso, no cabe duda de que vivimos unos tiempos extraordinarios. De alguna manera, es como si todo estuviera empezando otra vez. Nuestra nueva forma de relacionarnos y de comunicarnos trasciende fronteras, desarma viejos conceptos y nos convierte en otra cosa. Si esa cosa será mejor o peor que lo anterior, es difícil saberlo. Al fin y al cabo, la evolución no sabe de juicios morales, simplemente sucede.
